While on one of my recent visits to pinterest I found a lot of fun projects to do with pallets. Yes, nasty, old pallets. I fell in love with the idea of chopping them up and making bookshelves. I was talking to my sister and SIL about this and we were talking about how to get a hold of some pallets. Well, turns out my brother can get some. Hurray!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So sweet Matt got me some beautiful (actually really dirty and old ones, but I saw the potential!) pallets and away I went. I was able to get 3 shelves per pallet. I have to say though, there is NO saving the slats of wood you take off to use as the bottoms. The wood is so old and splintered and the nails are so old, rusted, and so far down that I don't know how people say they save them. I had some strips of MDF left over from another project that I put on the bottoms.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also didn't have to stain them or anything. After giving them a good sand I loved the natural colors and oils that came through.</div>

I made some cute littler ones for my little girl's room since I know she feels jipped that she didn't have any books in her room. I also cleaned out and white washed an old wash bucket I've had to put all her little plushes in. She is a big time stuffed animal lover and we've been needing a solution for them. Done! :) </div>

Next it was on to the boy's room. They have had two big bookshelves of books in their room. Too many. They love books and reading, but with that may books in their room there were always books everywhere. I love this wall of shelves much better. It doesn't take up a lot of space, and it limits the amount of books we have to clean up.<br />
I was worried about the kids not being able to reach the top shelves, but then saw one of my boys climb up the shelves to the top. Good thing I now know my work is sturdy!<br />

I am not a huge soup fan, so I never saw the need to make mine own. Well, I finally decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. I was YUMMY!<br />
<a href="http://www.creativelydomestic.com/2010/10/guest-post-crockpot-chicken-and-noodle.html">This soup</a> was easy and tasty.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Chicken and Noodle Soup</strong>5 cups of chicken broth (boxed or can is
fine)<br />One 10.75 oz can cream of chicken soup<br />1/2 cup onions, chopped
fine<br />1/2 cup celery, chopped fine<br />1/2 cup carrots, chopped fine<br />1/2 cup
green onions, sliced<br />One 15 oz can of whole kernel corn, drained<br />Salt and
Pepper to taste<br />1 1/2 cup Egg noodles<br />2 cups cooked chicken chopped or 2
cans canned cooked chicken<br /><br />Add everything but the noodles and cooked
chicken to the crock pot on Low for 5-6 hours, the last hour turn on High, and
add noodles and chicken. Remember, if you do this in the morning, and don’t have
a timer on your crock pot, use a lamp timer, they work wonderful. </div>Seth and Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08328629783404478757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8631996941094329642.post-29278561760635896522012-07-23T17:26:00.001-07:002012-07-23T17:26:28.279-07:00ranch chicken in the crock potThis <a href="http://healthifiedkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/08/bacon-ranch-slowcooker-chicken.html">recipe</a> ...<br />

2 butterball turkey bacon strips, cooked and shredded<br />1 tsp minced
garlic<br />1 package ranch dressing mix<br />1 10.75 oz can condensed cream of
chicken soup (98% fat free)<br />1 cup fat-free sour cream<br />16 oz. chicken
breasts, frozen or defrosted/raw<br />8 oz. pasta (I used rigatoni),
cooked<br /><br />Combine the first five ingredients. Place frozen or defrosted/raw
chicken in slowcooker sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and pour sauce over
the top (do NOT include water like the can mentions). Cook on high for 3.5
hours. Shred chicken with two forks. Cook pasta per package instructions on
stove. Serve chicken over pasta.<br />
<br />
...was good, but WAY too strong. Me saying a ranch flavor is too stong is a first for me. Next time I try this it will be with half (or less) of the ranch seasoning. Other than that it was a good one.<br />
P.S. I used regular bacon. If you're going to have bacon...have bacon! ;)Seth and Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08328629783404478757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8631996941094329642.post-27643533472360921492012-07-23T17:20:00.003-07:002012-07-23T17:20:41.066-07:00tomato and mozzarella pasta<div style="text-align: center;">

Thank goodness for all the talented people out there who are coming up with alternative was to have a "s'more"<br />
Here are the best two I have found in my searches:<br />
<img alt="" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1735" height="373" src="http://www.countrycleaver.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/IMG_7897-Recipe-Name-560x373.jpg" title="IMG_7897 Recipe Name" width="560" /><br />
Yes please!!<br />
I am not a s'more fan...meaning I hate the mess of eating them, but I love the taste of them. These <a href="http://www.countrycleaver.com/2012/06/smores-graham-krispie-treats-and-tuesday-wedding-things.html">s'more treats</a> are amazing. Took them to a family BBQ for all the fellow dislikers of a s'more mess and we gobbled them up!<br />
<br />
You simply make them like you were making rice crispy treats, but instead of rice crispies you use golden grahams. (I have to admit I had to have a bowl of golden grahams before making these because it had been so long since I had had them!)<br />
Mix in a cup or so of semi-sweet chocolate chips and let set.<br />
<br />
And now for the BEST RECIPE EVER.... S'more cups<br />

When you make something and your husband says something like, "your chicken tastes like restaurant chicken" you know it's a good recipe.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Mix together in a bowl:<br />
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese<br />4 tablespoons butter, softened<br />3 tablespoons light mayonnaise<br />2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from about 1 lemon)<br />1/4 teaspoon dried basil<br />1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper<br />1/4 teaspoon salt<br />1/4 teaspoon onion powder<br />1/4 teaspoon garlic powder<br />2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts<br />
<br />
Cover a baking sheet with foil and Cook chicken 4-5 on high broiler on top rack. Turn over and cook another 3-4 minutes. Cover with mixture and cook another 2-3 minutes.<br />
<br />
I have never cook with my broiler before and man is it easy. Loved it. Quick and delicious. If you want a more true Parmesan flavor you can leave our the lemon. It's great both ways. I found this <a href="http://www.food.com/recipe/microwave-caramels-367414">recipe</a> and HOLY COW is is delicious! <br />
<br />
1/4 C butter<br />
1/2 C white sugar<br />
1/2 C brown sugar<br />
1/2 C corn syrup<br />
1/2 C sweetened condensed milk<br />
<br />
Microwave and stir every 2 minutes. Pour into a greased glass 9x13 pan. Let set. Cut and wrap in wax paper. Store in an air tight container.<br />
<br />
6 minutes! That's dangerous.<br />
I do have to admit that the cutting and wrapping part of it is a little tedious, but still well worth it.<br />
Just a word to the wise: do not double. It doesn't set up as well. <br />
(and corn syrup works better than karo)Seth and Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08328629783404478757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8631996941094329642.post-47185231547732633022012-06-21T16:31:00.000-07:002012-06-21T16:31:00.246-07:00rock storiesI was inspired by this <a href="http://www.skiptomylou.org/2012/06/08/driftwood-play-figures-craft-camp/">driftwood art.</a> It was so fun and colorful. But since I don't have any driftwood around I decided to make my art on rocks for my kids to play with in their sand box. We made a few different "stories" that we are going to paint with our cousins at a little family get together that is coming up.<br />
Here's our fairy tale rocks. I used my inspiration from the driftwood art.<br />

I think they are so cute and can't wait until the kids paint them up. They are going to be so cute.</div>Seth and Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08328629783404478757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8631996941094329642.post-60281797072896747292012-06-19T15:54:00.001-07:002012-06-19T16:07:02.007-07:00a cup a day......keeps the dishwasher empty!I've seen so many cute ideas out there for how to have a place in the kitchen so that kids use only 1 cup a day. I've loved them all, but wasn't sure how I wanted to do this myself....until I went through that pile of great antique boxes from my mother-in-law.<br />
I found this beauty and she was perfect for the task (the words on it couldn't be more perfect either!) :). <br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

My kids are great at choosing a cup each morning and then keeping it in their box. This is also helping us be better at drinking out of cups and not just water bottles and sippies!<br />

These cups are life savers. They are so cute and fun. The kids get excited about choosing a different one each day. They were in a huge bin (or can be found in the party section) at WalMart and were $.87 each. We bought a bunch.<br />

It was so nice. My husband woke up to some cute homemade gifts that his kids were so proud of. I got these cute bag ideas from <a href="http://papercrave.com/diy-fathers-day-shirt-tie-gift-boxes/">here</a> and the cute card from <a href="http://onecharmingparty.com/2012/06/13/free-fathers-day-card-printable/">here</a>.<br />

<br />
He got a great homemade <a href="http://thebluebasket.blogspot.com/2011/09/tutorial-car-shirt.html#more">"back rub" shirt</a> from the kids. We drew some roads on it for their monster trucks to drive around on to massage his back. They included some of their favorite destinations on there like our house, the lake, the park, WalMart, Grandma's house, the treasure museum, the train yard, Disneyland... It was fun to make and they did great art work<br />

I have been wanting to figure out a way to make my laundry room look a little cuter. It seems to be the place I just dump and stash and hide things.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghAQvE2ESp9Xw7MoDIN7-fdBEVhvZ4z4Xp4EjgJl1wKEiVrxjvhgGnXS0pwzxyj9iL3OLpa4dkB8sgdWCvClV6-p9Z2K6XHS1MMyCxq7s1O32PqxlkI9QDdvx03un9d4HwZEDENSp5uXU/s1600/Laundry+Room+Bins+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghAQvE2ESp9Xw7MoDIN7-fdBEVhvZ4z4Xp4EjgJl1wKEiVrxjvhgGnXS0pwzxyj9iL3OLpa4dkB8sgdWCvClV6-p9Z2K6XHS1MMyCxq7s1O32PqxlkI9QDdvx03un9d4HwZEDENSp5uXU/s320/Laundry+Room+Bins+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I "went shopping" at my in-laws and found these amazing wooden boxes. They are so great! A little stinky and a little dirty, but awesome! True treasures.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglqSapi4HHTYeiDJsDakc72Jg9s-PwqTDyGMH26jDlkB8R1XryWZgxdM5pxV24TiaqUciktYALQyGeKztLI_3OJsaAtkusfIRCy-jAmSAVCzk4SBMJR9GVt_eExIcNWai3LpP7xdNDovI/s1600/Laundry+Room+Bins.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglqSapi4HHTYeiDJsDakc72Jg9s-PwqTDyGMH26jDlkB8R1XryWZgxdM5pxV24TiaqUciktYALQyGeKztLI_3OJsaAtkusfIRCy-jAmSAVCzk4SBMJR9GVt_eExIcNWai3LpP7xdNDovI/s320/Laundry+Room+Bins.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The newspaper lining them was dated January 2, 1950! What treasures! The advertisements in them were so fun to see!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikRy5NsHo3Xdt-T4onz5ztCYeNaOtA5ent8AsNj_VeD2fVOfnfWtbp5JMoWxEFjEiCU67EEYNltJMe_KN6cGtKqPD1xQfXchcG1GZXar4lRAMW9WHy9bwvIyUOsdUxfMphuOIJJR_PuWU/s1600/Laundry+Room+Bins+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikRy5NsHo3Xdt-T4onz5ztCYeNaOtA5ent8AsNj_VeD2fVOfnfWtbp5JMoWxEFjEiCU67EEYNltJMe_KN6cGtKqPD1xQfXchcG1GZXar4lRAMW9WHy9bwvIyUOsdUxfMphuOIJJR_PuWU/s320/Laundry+Room+Bins+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So after a little cleaning (okay, a lot) they were good to go. I love how they look. <br />

I still need to label my detergent jars and I want to build a table top to go over my machines, but everything around here happens in baby steps. So probably in another few years that will be done too! :)</div>Seth and Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08328629783404478757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8631996941094329642.post-37346408918982798522012-06-04T12:14:00.000-07:002012-06-04T12:14:00.891-07:00tool box = book box<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If there is one thing our house does not lack it is books and bookshelves. But we didn't have any place to keep our library books when we brought them home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As I mentioned before, I like to "shop" at my in-laws. I am always able t find the best treasures. This time I was able to find all of these great wood boxes and tool boxes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This told tool box made the perfect place to keep our library books...and it looks wonderful too! Just a little cleaning up and a vynil label and there you go. It makes me happy every time I see it!</div>

It is so easy. I dress can be whipped up in 10 minutes. Only basic sewing skills are needed.<br />
You just sew the size fabric you need in a tube with the ribbons in the seam on the top. They sew about an inch down when it is right side out for the elastic to run through. I added the band of a second fabric on the bottom for fun and the flowers as accessories.<br />
I made this dress for my little niece and I love how it turned out. The fabric was chosen by my SIL for her nursery, but then she went a different direction, so I told her I'd find something to do with it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJq_LGJ1I86pUUpjx2bOBBWhYSfr4oO1ccLl_7-8OvlM4mTjumqCT5kjNkT3wW5x3f5eIybHp6mW87reVNIl4Js8XdjsvRZRcpxoHKI11ueySCHQu3m-Mr_Cv8ZJ7kCTbfgCcoS3XElQ8/s1600/Crafts+Presley+Dress.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJq_LGJ1I86pUUpjx2bOBBWhYSfr4oO1ccLl_7-8OvlM4mTjumqCT5kjNkT3wW5x3f5eIybHp6mW87reVNIl4Js8XdjsvRZRcpxoHKI11ueySCHQu3m-Mr_Cv8ZJ7kCTbfgCcoS3XElQ8/s320/Crafts+Presley+Dress.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
The flower on the dress and the hair flower are just 6 circles of felt folded in thirds and glued in a circle with a fabric covered button in the center. Again, super easy. You just have to know how to hot glue!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5tiAVXuMaOoOXfayWVFHcEZn9pj-_LRQPgQNAi8JvVs-fpnkK-LyUGiMfDm7nsixnVG-AwLbdrOBOmsXzKvrCZLfewLJAJVjyiYGWfbQbrEA5izf3YkvkwAAYLmY5MrAilRsjfItF54c/s1600/Crafts+Presley+Dress+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5tiAVXuMaOoOXfayWVFHcEZn9pj-_LRQPgQNAi8JvVs-fpnkK-LyUGiMfDm7nsixnVG-AwLbdrOBOmsXzKvrCZLfewLJAJVjyiYGWfbQbrEA5izf3YkvkwAAYLmY5MrAilRsjfItF54c/s320/Crafts+Presley+Dress+(2).JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With the bit of fabric that was left and finding some cute ribbon scraps in my stash I made a little taggie for her since all babies love tags. I think it turned out so cute and made me want to make one for my little girl, even though she is way passed this stage!</div>

I got to make a cake for my little niece who was turning 1. Turning 1 is a big thing so I wanted it to be cute and special. Sadly, I am not a great cake decorator. I finally came up with this and thought it turned out pretty cute. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I simply made some yarn balls and glued them onto sticks. I wish I would have had some scissors to cut some of them down a bit, but when you decor last minute as a clubhouse with no supplies you work with what you've got.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cake was red velvet and delicious. It was fun to cut into the cake and find a bright beautiful red cake waiting for you.</div>

This magnetic board was quite the project. I wish I had taken pictures of it after all it and I have been through! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was found at a thrift store by my mom and she thought it would be so cute if it was redone so she had me save it to give to her granddaughter for her birthday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, that day finally came and I had to figure out what to do with it. It was green and banged up pretty bad and someone had painted the metal yellow. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Needless to say, after a lot of scraping, removing the metal and turning it around, and a lot of paint I got it looking pretty good so I left in on the garage floor to dry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, my husband came home and didn't see it and ran it over! I couldn't believe that after all the work I put into it that this would happen. I decided I could put a little more work into it and get it looking good again.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, with a lot of wood glue, jimmy rigging, and more paint to cover the tire marks I got it put back together. Add some cute stone magnets that match the banner in her room and you have a cute metal board.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's to hoping nothing else happens to it before it gets to the party! :)</div>

And yes, this was another great free project. I just picked up a bunch of paint sticks when I was at Lowe's the last time. I busted out the paints and brushes and let my kids go to town. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq4BV4ivLUxyQZMKn-hStlQ30AhBQGiJnHZb5vE9IvADdgUPo80tmEV_0lf27lIV7Be7tprjwLV2KhOWOS3P9fZ_RNFuDWXyGRfndcyBg8m4-gEl-rA6HwK3oHQZhf0bAkI1HOiMsZzlw/s1600/Crafts+Garden+Stakes.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq4BV4ivLUxyQZMKn-hStlQ30AhBQGiJnHZb5vE9IvADdgUPo80tmEV_0lf27lIV7Be7tprjwLV2KhOWOS3P9fZ_RNFuDWXyGRfndcyBg8m4-gEl-rA6HwK3oHQZhf0bAkI1HOiMsZzlw/s320/Crafts+Garden+Stakes.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
They had so much fun and I was so proud of myself for letting them let loose, make a mess, and get paint everywhere.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqZRRT21c2wH4xnYokrYNFRhTrl2yrQtiX6So_toXLXqsZOekMVuXqWHg4JGcaFN_JtU2aL21e8JEQ7igCAVRrSaw8eCs95sDJbjxfLazB6V6YS2CR6qYfYZWECX1oIQwpyalQlEuiOVM/s1600/Crafts+Garden+Stakes+(6).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqZRRT21c2wH4xnYokrYNFRhTrl2yrQtiX6So_toXLXqsZOekMVuXqWHg4JGcaFN_JtU2aL21e8JEQ7igCAVRrSaw8eCs95sDJbjxfLazB6V6YS2CR6qYfYZWECX1oIQwpyalQlEuiOVM/s320/Crafts+Garden+Stakes+(6).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
They came up with some pretty cool colors and designs. I was so proud of them and I could tell they were happy with themselves too.<br />

Let's just say that this is one of those times when I am so grateful for my granite countertops. Everyhing including all this paint just comes right off. It's a mother's best friend when it comes to projects like this.<br />

My oldest wasn't into the painting, so he helped me label the stakes for our plants. They look so great outside and brighten our yard up a lot. I love that they made them and love to go see them and have me read them to them.<br />

I had waited on this because I was looking for some great cheap frames. Well, after a community garage sale and a great deal at Hobby Lobby, I have 3 gorgeous frames.<br />
My crafter-in-crime, Aymee, and I are always borrowing, trading, and stealing various supplies from each other and she happened to have some extra metal sheets laying around. Gotta love shopping next door! :)<br />
So all in all, another great project for cheap. I love how they look and I love that my kids manage them themselves. Okay, Chloe just likes moving them back and forth, but she'll get there. Give the kids a break. She's only 1! :)<br />

Something I have always wanted to do is make my kids Quite Books. It has always seemed so overwhelming and time consuming to me that I just kept pushing the thought to the back of my mind.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, no more! I am going to do it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks to my pal Pintrest I have been doing a lot of research and idea gathering. I've found some great stuff that I want to use and I've found a lot of inspiration that has sparked my noggin and got the wheels turning to allow the ideas to be unique and personal to my kids and their likes, skills, and personalities.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Wish me luck as I start. I am just in the sketching stage and will soon be gathering materials. I am by no means trying to get this done fast. I think these would make great Christmas presents! :)</div>

LOVE IT! :) A heart for each of the little darlings who have mine! :)
<br />
We simply cut out our desired colors out of magazines and mod podged them on plain paper. I then cut the kids colored pages into hearts and mod podged them onto my green background.<br />
The kids and I have a blast making it.<br />

My kids have been blessed with amazing Primary Teachers and I am so grateful for that. Sam came home with this super cute craft. It is a small white bag that he colored yellow and glued himself on to and drew a face. The paper he is "holding" says "Let your light so shine." There is a small battery powered tea light in there that lets it shine.<br />
He is so proud of it and rightfully so. It is so cute!<br />Seth and Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08328629783404478757noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8631996941094329642.post-19593035624214243822012-05-04T21:56:00.000-07:002012-05-12T21:58:54.250-07:00growth chart updateWith my dining nook being redone I had to do a little updating to my growth chart to make it a little more fun and meaningful. I decided to include what each person wanted to be when they grew up each time they were measured. I think this will be a fun thing to look back and read over when my kids are big.<br />

I want to make sure that it is a place where my kids feel happy, comfortable, and welcome. Where their toys, dirt, and artwork fit right in. I am done with the "model" home feel. So here's what we ended up with.<br />
The kids and I love it. We have been so much better at having family dinners at the table now. Our old counter height table was just too big, fancy, and uncomfortable for a family table. I love that I can just touch this one up when we get anything on it (which we already have done!). :)<br />
I got the table off KSL, stripped it and painted it. The chairs were from Ikea. I just sanded those down too and painted them up.<br />

My wall decor is not quite done yet, but here's what I have so far. My kids monograms ($12. Letters from Hobby Lobby, fabric from WalMart), a duck for Chloe (she's obsessed with Ducks for some reason. Can't get enough of them!), and clouds for my dreamer/imaginer, James. I just used my cricut to cut vinyl. Then I sprayed over it. I am still coming up with how Sam will be represented. We all know that nothing but trains exists in his world, I just don't want to be so literal. It's been so fun and they love their art.<br />
The hooks for their coats are awesome. I had fun making them and putting them together. Just a 1x8 board cut and stained. Hooks mounted on front and the back is drill with screw holders. I just need to build the little bench seat under them now to pull it altogether.<br />
I love creating and developing skills. It gets my mind and body going.

So I saw this amazingly cute felt flower pillow at Hobby Lobby the other day and decided I wanted to make one. So here's what I did. I just cut pedals out of scraps of pinks that I had and then hot glued them on to a pillow. It was so simple and didn't cost me a thing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The best part about it was when my daughter woke up the next morning and saw it. She squealed and immediately went and put her head on it. I guess it's hers now! :)</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I finally decided on how I wanted to do my kids chore charts. I don't know why it has been so hard for me to commit to one. It's just a chore chart! But those are the types of things that I get stuck on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So here goes it. It was simple, cheap, and quick. All you have to do is know how to color, cut, and glue. And all the child needs to be able to do is tell what the picture is of. It only costs about $5 (plus glue cost-I already had it). And you can finish it while you watch a movie.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Draw a picture to describe the job. Remember that you will be cutting on the inside of the line. Allow your picture to fit.<br />

When dry, place on magnetic board. I simply wrote on mine with an EXPO marker. The jobs that don't have to be done that day are next to the name. The ones that need to be done are in the "do" pile. When a job is completed it is simply slid over to the "done" side.<br />
